Women Will Lead All Five Vermont State Colleges; Grant Back to New England

The Vermont State College System appointed Central Penn College President Karen Scolforo to be the next leader of Castleton University, succeeding Dave Wolk, who is retiring from the post after 16 years. Vermont State Colleges Chancellor Jeb Spaulding noted that with Scolforo’s appointment, all five institutions in the Vermont State College System will all be headed by women for the first time.

University of North Carolina at Asheville Chancellor Mary K. Grant, the former president of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, will become president of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate in Boston in January 2018.

Saint Anselm College named former Curry College Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Eric Norman to fill the same position at the Manchester, N.H. college.

FocusMaine named Kimberly Hamilton, currently chief impact officer at Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief group, to be the first president of the Portland-based economic development which has a 10-year plan to help create jobs and increase worker capacity in Maine agriculture, aquaculture and biopharmaceuticals.
