Trustees of the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH) appointed University of New Hampshire economist Ross Gittell to be the system’s new chancellor.
Gittell will assume the post in February, succeeding J. Bonnie Newman, who has served as interim chancellor since August, while the national search for a permanent chancellor was underway.
A distinguished professor at the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business and Economics, Gittell has been a frequent contributor to NEJHE on issues of regional economic analysis and forecasting. He has most recently written for NEJHE about the forecast of the New England Economic Partnership where he is vice president, and the Green Launching Pad, a business accelerator program he co-founded.
The Community College System of New Hampshire consists of seven colleges located throughout the state, offering associate degree and certificate programs, workforce training and transfer pathways to four-year colleges and universities.
