New Prez at NHTI, Concord’s Community College; Goodman to Head Center for Policy Analysis

The Community College System of New Hampshire Board of Trustees appointed Susan Dunton to be the next president of NHTI, Concord’s Community College. Dunton’s experience in college administration, academic affairs and student services spans three decades at institutions including Lesley College, the Harvard Divinity School and Fisher College.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth named economist Michael Goodman to lead its Center for Policy Analysis, succeeding Clyde W. Barrow. Goodman co-edits MassBenchmarks, a journal focused on the Massachusetts economy and published by the UMass Donahue Institute in collaboration with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Michael Ettlinger, a senior director with the Pew Charitable Trusts, was named the founding director of the University of New Hampshire’s new Carsey School of Public Policy, scheduled to open later this summer.

Maine Gov. Paul LePage appointed Auburn Mayor Jonathan LaBonte to be director of the Governor’s Office of Policy and Management.

Walter Zakahi, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities at Minnesota State University, was named provost and vice president for academic affairs at Keene State College, effective June 30.

Clark Greene, acting commissioner of higher education in Rhode Island, was named interim vice president for college advancement and external relations at Rhode Island College.

Jill Deupi, director and chief curator of University Museums at Fairfield University, was named director of the Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami, effective Aug. 11.
