Educause named Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Senior Vice Chancellor John O’Brien to be its next president and CEO, O’Brien succeeds Diana G. Oblinger, who has led the the higher education technology association since 2008. In October 2012, Oblinger addressed more than 400 New England educators gathered by NEBHE on the topic of Game Changers Revolutionizing Higher Education.

Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth named international economics scholar Matthew J. Slaughter to be the school’s 10th dean. Slaughter has held several leadership roles at Tuck since joining the faculty in 2002.

The Maine Community College System Board of Trustees appointed Derek Langhauser, general counsel for the system, to be its interim president, replacing John Fitzsimmons, who resigned earlier this month under pressure from Gov. Paul LePage.

Pine Manor College appointed Alan Russell to be vice president of finance as the college continues to develop as a co-ed institution. He most recently served as interim vice president for administration and finance at Warren Wilson College in North Carolina.
