Former Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey, a member of NEBHE’s Commission on Higher Education & Employability, announced she will step down as president of Babson College next year after leading the business college since 2013.

Former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employment and Training Jane Oates, who was a senior policy advisor to U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy from 1997 to 2006, became president of WorkingNation, the national organization created to bring the country together to create new jobs for a changing economy.

Jeffrey Thompson, principal economist at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Political Economy Research Institute, was named director of the Boston Fed’s New England Public Policy Center.

Lesley University named Portland State University Interim Provost Margaret Everett to be its next provost and vice president for academic affairs, succeeding Interim Provost Richard Hansen.

Sacred Heart University named Montclair State University professor and associate dean Brian V. Carolan to be Sacred Heart’s dean of graduate studies.

Sterling College appointed Peter Merrill, co-founder and owner of Elmore Mountain Farm, LLC, to be its first vice president/chief operating officer.
