NEBHE’s Policy and Research arm serves as a resource to education, government, and business leaders throughout New England. It seeks to provide timely information, research and analysis on issues related to higher education and workforce development to decision-makers and the public throughout New England.

Members of the Policy and Research team have experience engaging with New England state and regional leaders on issues such as graduate employability; affordability; early college, dual and concurrent enrollment; college readiness; college completion; institutional cost; and adult attainment strategies.

The Policy and Research team seeks to provide NEBHE’s stakeholders with:

Policy & Data Analysis

Policy and Research engages our vast regional and national network to perform policy and data analysis on a variety of topics in higher education and workforce development. These analyses are disseminated through reports, briefs, presentations, infographics and interactive data visualizations.

State Policy Presentations

The Policy and Research team regularly visits states to provide topical presentations and briefings to legislative committees and stakeholder groups in order to inform policymaking and regional collaboration.

Responses to Research & Data Requests

The Policy and Research team is on-hand to respond to research and data requests from its stakeholders. Past requests have included: state policies that address credit for prior learning for military veterans, quantifying the impact of higher education institutions on local economies and comparative data on state support for higher education.

Please email policy@nebhe.org if you’d like to engage NEBHE’s Policy & Research team in any of these services.
