Upcoming New England Higher Ed Events

The Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Massachusetts (AICUM) will honor Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker at its annual dinner on Monday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Seaport Hotel in Boston.

The New Hampshire College & University Council (NHCUC) will hold the annual NH Scholars Breakfast of Champions to explore ways to better prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s workforce on Wednesday, Dec. 7 from 
8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Southern New Hampshire University. 
University System of New Hampshire Chancellor Todd Leach will deliver the keynote.

The New Hampshire High Tech Council (NHHTC) will convene 500-plus venture capitalists, corporate VCs, angel investors, investment bankers and CEOs of early stage and emerging growth companies for panel discussions and networking opportunities at the 2016 New England Venture Summit to be held Wednesday, Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Boston Dedham in Dedham, Mass.

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) will hold its annual meeting and conference, focused on “Educational Effectiveness through Accreditation” from Wednesday, Dec. 7 through Friday, Dec. 9 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place.

Educate Maine will hold its annual symposium on current education issues, from early childhood through adulthood, from rural to urban, from business partnerships to classroom learning models, on Friday, Dec. 9 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, Maine. Speakers will include Deanna Sherman, president & CEO of Dead River Company, and Nicholas C. Donohue, president & CEO of the Nellie Mae Education Foundation. A luncheon will honor Timothy B. Hussey with the Weston L. Bonney Education Leadership Award in recognition of his work championing education in Maine.
