Comings and Goings …
The Boston Foundation named Emerson College President M. Lee Pelton to be the community foundation’s next president and chief executive officer, effective in June 2021. He will succeed Paul Grogan, who led the foundation for nearly 20 years. In June, Pelton was named by Boston Mayor Marty Walsh to lead the Boston Racial Equity Fund. Pelton taught English and American literature at Harvard, where he earned a doctorate in 19th century English and American Literature and Languages. Before becoming president of Emerson in 2011, he held positions as dean of the college at Colgate University and Dartmouth College and president of Willamette University in Oregon.
Goddard College President Bernard Bull will leave the Plainfield, Vt. college to become president of Concordia University Nebraska in August. The Nebraska institution is an affiliate of the nine-member Concordia University System operated by the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod. Bull had joined Goddard two years ago from Concordia University Wisconsin.
