The University of New Hampshire is one of 14 higher education institutions throughout the U.S. that have been selected by the National Center for Engineering Pathways to Innovation (Epicenter) to participate in the Pathways to Innovation, a program funded by the National Science Foundation and run by Epicenter. Epicenter is directed by Stanford University and VentureWell.
The Pathways program is designed to help institutions transform the experience of their undergraduate engineering students and fully incorporate innovation and entrepreneurship into a range of courses as well as strengthen co- and extra-curricular offerings.
The new cohort joins a community of 37 institutional teams currently participating in the program. The University of Massachusetts Lowell, the only other institution from New England, joined as a member of the first cohort in 2014.
The teams have been involved in a variety of projects including innovation certificates and majors, maker and flexible learning spaces, first-year and capstone courses, faculty fellows programs, and innovation centers. Several cross-institutional collaborations have also resulted from the first group of institutions.
