Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker appointed Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins as the new chair of the Roxbury Community College Board of Trustees.
Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont named Wall Street executive and former chair of the UConn Foundation Board of Directors Dan Toscano to be the new chair of the University of Connecticut Board of Trustees.
Former Massachusetts state Rep. Evandro Carvalho was named the new executive director of Boston’s Human Rights Commission, which has not been active since 1996 but was reactivated by Mayor Martin Walsh to devote “special attention to the needs of Boston’s immigrant communities.”
