WICHE Appoints Second Woman to Lead a Higher Ed Compact; Goddard Names New Prez

The Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) appointed Demarée Michelau to be president of the regional interstate higher education compact, serving 16 Western members, including U.S. states, territories, and freely associated states and their 80 million residents. She joins recently named Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC)  President Susan Heegaard as the second woman to lead one of the U.S. interstate higher education compacts.

The Goddard College Board of Trustees tapped Bernard Bull, currently chief innovation officer and vice provost of curriculum and innovation at Concordia University Wisconsin, to be the next president of the Vermont institution looking to expand low-residency and online learning opportunities for adult and post=traditional learners.

Bay Path University named longtime Elms College nursing instructor Cheryl Ann Sheils to be program director for its new doctor of nursing practice degree program.

TERC, the Cambridge. Mass.-based  STEM education group, named MassBay Community College math/science learning specialist and mentor Stephen D. Alkins, Jr. as its new diversity, equity and inclusion officer.
