Wentworth Announces Fifth President, UMaine Fort Kent President to Retire

Wentworth Institute of Technology announced that Mark A. Thompson will become the university’s fifth president, effective June 1, 2019. Thompson comes to Wentworth after a 21-year tenure at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn., where he served as executive vice president and provost.

John Short, president of the University of Maine at Fort Kent, will retire at the end of the academic year after more than 40 years of scholarship and higher education leadership.
