Jermaine Williams

Jermaine Williams, vice president for student affairs at North Shore Community College in Danvers, Mass., has been selected as the seventh president of Nassau Community College in Garden City, N.Y., effective July 1, 2019. Before joining North Shore Community College four years ago, he held various roles with increasing responsibility at Northeastern Illinois University.

 

 

 

 

Rhode Island Gov. Gina M. Raimondo appointed Linda Larsen, director of education and outreach for the Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance (SENEDIA), as new chair of the Rhode Island Career and Technical Board of Trustees.

 

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker nominated Katherine Craven as new chair of the state’s Board of Elementary and Secondary Education. Craven has served on the board since 2014. She is the chief administrative and financial officer at Babson College and was the founding executive director and chief executive officer of the Massachusetts School Building Authority.

 

Thomas Weber, commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care since 2013, announced that he will step down in June. He will resign after more than a decade of service in senior roles within the Massachusetts Education Secretariat.
