Hartford International University for Religion and Peace Names New Admissions Chief

Kalia Kellogg

Hartford International University for Religion and Peace appointed experienced admissions professional Kalia Kellogg as its director of recruitment and enrollment management. Kellogg served recently as director of enrollment management at Northwestern Connecticut Community College and, before that, as associate director of admissions at Trinity College.

The ETS Board of Trustees named international higher education leader Amit Sevak as the seventh president and CEO of the major educational assessment group formed as the Educational Testing Service in 1947 by the American Council on Education, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the College Entrance Examination Board. Sevak is the former leader of the University of Europe in Madrid, INTI International University & Colleges in Kuala Lumpur and Universidad Tecnológica de México. He will succeed Walt MacDonald, who has led ETS since 2014.

The National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ) named Heather Peske, currently senior associate commissioner for instructional support in the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, as the D.C.-based nonprofit’s next president, effective in May. Hailed for her literacy and equity work in Massachusetts, Peske will succeed Kate Walsh, who is stepping down after leading NCTQ for 20 years
