Media executive Laura R. Walker, recognized for transforming New York Public Radio (NYPR) into a media powerhouse, began as president of Bennington College. She succeeds Mariko Silver, who stepped down in July 2019, and Isabel Roche, who served for the past year as interim president.

The Rev. Philip L. Boroughs announced he will step down at the end of the academic year as president of the College of the Holy Cross, which he has led since 2012. He will stay on at the oldest Catholic college in New England until June 30, 2021, then take a one-year sabbatical before receiving a new assignment from the Jesuit Order.

Providence Promise promoted Chief of Operations Madalyn Ciampi to be the next executive director of the four-year old nonprofit that supports high educational aspirations and more equitable opportunities for Providence students by advocating for college savings accounts and family engagement, increasing financial literacy, and reducing the financial burden of higher education.
