Middlebury College Trustees named Laurie L. Patton, dean of Duke University’s Trinity College of Arts and Sciences and the Robert F. Durden Professor of Religion, as Middlebury’s next president, effective in July. She will succeed Ronald D. Liebowitz, who has beens president since July 2004.
Bridgewater State University’s Board of Trustees recommended alumn and Executive Vice President Frederick W. Clark Jr. of Easton to be the university’s 12th president, succeeding Dana Mohler-Faria, who led Bridgewater since 2002. Clark was executive officer of the Massachusetts State Universities’ Council of Presidents, where he represented the Commonwealth’s nine state universities in governmental, legislative and public policy issues. Previously, he was chief aide to the late U.S. Congressman John Joseph Moakley.
Siiri Morley was named executive director of Strong Women, Strong Girls in Boston. Morley was founder and executive director of Prosperity Catalyst, a nonprofit focused on investing in women in distressed parts of the world to help them become successful entrepreneurs.
