MIT, Brown U Officials Tapped to Lead Boston Fed Board

Phillip Clay

Phillip L. Clay, professor emeritus of city planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, became chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston for 2019, and Brown University President  Christina Hull Paxson became deputy chair.

The Massachusetts Business Alliance for Education named Edward Lambert Jr., former Fall River, Mass., mayor and vice chancellor for government relations and public affairs at the University of Massachusetts Boston, to succeed Linda Noonan, who is leaving the organization after 13 years.

Hartford Seminary hired nonprofit development administrator Kaaren Van Dyke to be its director of philanthropy.

Vermont House Speaker Mitzi Johnson (D-South Hero) appointed new chairs to seven of the House’s 14 standing committees, including naming Rep. Kate Webb (D-Shelburne), a member of NEBHE’s Legislative Advisory Committee, to chair Vermont’s House Education Committee.
