Wheaton College President Dennis M. Hanno announced he will step down in late 2021, or earlier if a successor is named.
Stonehill College appointed DeBrenna LaFa Agbényiga, the former provost and vice president for academic affairs and professor of social work at Bowie State University in Maryland, to be the new provost and vice president for academic affairs at the Easton, Mass. college.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) tapped the Rev. Dr. Debora Jackson, a business executive and alumna who served as the first director of lifelong learning at Yale Divinity School, to be the next dean of WPI’s Robert A. Foisie Business School, effective Jan. 1, 2021.
The University of Maryland Board of Regents appointed Southern New Hampshire University Global Campus President Gregory Fowler to be the next president for the University of Maryland Global Campus, effective Jan. 4, 2021. At SNHU, Fowler worked with the Thurgood Marshall Fund, the Kresge Foundation and Delaware State University to create an online education program for students who had started a degree but didn’t finish, at historically black colleges and universities, and helped more military and industry-certified students access academic credit. He will succeed Javier Miyares.
Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio) CEO Robert Coughlin announced he’ll step down in early 2021 after more than 13 years in charge. MassBio also announced that Kendalle Burlin O’Connell, recently promoted to president, and Zach Stanley, recently promoted to executive vice president, will lead the trade group with Vice President of Administration and Finance Kristine Kelly during the search for a new CEO.
