Berklee College of Music Appoints its First Female President

Berklee College of Music named Erica Muhl, a composer who has led music and arts schools at the University of Southern California, to be its first female president, succeeding Roger Brown, who is stepping down after leading the college for 17 years.

The University of Rhode Island named Gaurav Khanna, currently a physics professor at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and co-director of its Center for Scientific Computing & Visualization Research, to be URI’s founding director of research computing.

Northern Essex Community College hired Alex Rodriguez, a Texas native who worked for the for a Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) and taught strategy and marketing at local colleges in recent years, to be the community college’s new director of corporate and community education.

The Boston Planning & Development Agency, formerly known as the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA), appointed Barry Reaves, currently assistant director of investigations and training for the City of Boston, to be the agency’s first director of diversity, equity and inclusion.
