Two NH Community College Leaders Stepping Down

Pelema I. Morrice stepped down as president of Great Bay Community College in New Hampshire after one year in the position. Community College System of NH Chancellor Ross Gittell was expected to recommend Cathryn Addy as interim president, subject to approval by the system’s board of trustees. Addy served one year as interim president of NHTI-Concord’s Community College and was president of Tunxis Community College in Connecticut and Berkshire Community College in Massachusetts. Addy also served on the NEJHE Editorial Advisory Board and authored NEJHE (and Connection) articles, including “Test the Spellings Commission’s Assumptions” about the 2006 national Commission on the Future of Higher Education.

Susan D. Huard, president of Manchester Community College, announced she will retire on Dec. 31, 2019, after nine years at the helm.

Karen Hebert-Maccaro, who spent 15 years in academia and independent consulting, including at Babson College’s F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, was named the CEO of Babson Executive Education.

Berkshire Community College announced several new deans, directors and staff, including Kevin Bechard, a former faculty member at Connecticut’s Manchester Community College, as the new dean of business and outreach, and Laurie Gordy, formerly dean of academic affairs at Newbury College, as the new dean of humanities, behavioral & social sciences.
