Another Chair for Raimondo … and D’Allesandro

Comings and Goings …

Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo, who chaired NEBHE’s Commission on Higher Education & Employability, was elected chair of the Democratic Governors Association.

New Hampshire state Sen. Lou D’Allesandro, a former NEBHE delegate and chair, was elected national chair of the Council of State Governments. D’Allesandro has authored NEJHE articles on topics ranging from state funding of higher ed to free college initiatives.

Brown University appointed Marist College Vice President of Information Technology Bill Thirsk to be the Rhode Island Ivy’s chief digital and information officer.

Lasell College appointed Chelsea Gwyther, former assistant dean of advancement at the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s College of Natural Sciences, to be vice president of development and alumni relations at the Newton, Mass. college.

The Maine Manufacturing Extension Partnership promoted its Center Director Larry Robinson to replace Muriel Mosher as president the Maine piece of the national network of manufacturing extension centers that provide business and technical assistance to smaller manufacturers.
